It is the motivating force that has impelled “Technima” from the very beginning, 32 years ago, until today. In February of 1988, Nikos and Eva Makriyianni decided to leave their successful careers and open a shop to present creations that come from within. This is how “Technima” was born and why the people of Chania have embraced it and loved it all these years. The youngest of the family, Katerina, who learned to love art since her childhood, could not resist continuing the family tradition

“Inquiring minds” is the phrase which characterize their personalities. They never rested on their laurels despite their studies in social science and economics or their successful personal careers. Due to their need for self expression and creativity, they were eager to combine their personal and professional paths in life, through the art of jewelry. Their road map combined both logic and creativity and “Technima” was their vehicle.

She grew up in a family in which fine arts were a significant part of their life. She studied theater in Greece and jewelry design in Florence. Her love for art, the family business and her hometown Chania, pushed her to abandon the world of theater and lead her to the art of jewelry making.
As with her parents, her vehicle was “Technima” which led her to create her personal brand.
